We received the bedding box today. The piece they love best is the tunnel. It's kind of like a tunnel of peace as they all love to sleep in it so nobody fights. The hammies they received and the sleep sacks are also highly prized even if they are not hanging. Again, please thank the ladies and guys so much.

Dear Crafty Weasels:

Thank you so much for the lovely hammocks and sleepsacks that you provided for my little-and big-guys. They are in the cages and fit so well. The are thick and comfy and so well-made.

The colors and the constructions are absolutely great. Thank you for all you have done for so many – and especially us!!

Today I received a very special package. It had some delightful and much needed bedding inside. I'd like to thank all who helped to sew them from the bottom of my heart.

I opened my shelter towards the end of November and I was close to overwhelmed at how quickly it filled up. In the past I was the foster coordinator for Massachusetts Ferret Friends. During that time everyone that adopted from us got what we call an Adoption Package. Each package contained literature, toys, food and a 3 piece bedding set that I had made myself. Imagine my surprise when I found myself in need of bedding for the shelter. I had so much to do I found myself not able to find any time to sew anymore so this truly meant a lot to me.

Again...thank you so much. It's a very special thing that you are doing for the shelters.

Warmly,

After a hectic day I arrived home to see a big box on my doorstep. Oh, my gosh! What a wonderful present for the shelter ferrets. I opened the box and started to admire the handywork when several of the hospice ferrets came over to see what I was doing. They mostly have their soup and then go to find somewhere to snooze so I was surprised that they oozed out of their hidey places to come to see what I was doing. Before I knew it Missy (who is 9 with adrenal and insulnoma) was snoozing in a blue and white winter flannel sack, Milo (8 who is blind with adrenal and insulnoma) had chosen a jungle pattern and was lying upside down snoozing, Zelly (8+ who is adrenal and insulnomic) had curled up in a plum purple sleepy bag and sighed as she closed her eyes, and Bandit Boy who adores split hanging hammocks went from one to another as if he couldn't decide so he got both of them. Carefully I placed them all in thier cages and let the next group out.

Turbo and Blazor (both from Ohio) ran over to check things out. Turbo (the name suits his personality) immediately dug all of the bedding out of the box like a badger, while Blazor sniffed it all, made his selection and dragged his new bed up the ramp and into his cage. This is no small fete for him as he is the boy who had his two upper canines removed.

I let out the rest of the shelter guys: Rudy, Chloe, Mikey, Buddy and they all had a nice romp in the bedding. I put aside several of the other beds for the other three shelter ferrets being fostered by my friend Michele. She has a ferret nation cage and many of these beds will work perfectly for them. Zuzu, Kawyz and Freckles will be getting their new beds tonight.

I cannot thank you enough for sending such a wonderful gift. Please thank everyone for me as we felt truly blessed this Christmas. What a nice feeling it was to tuck each one into beautiful bedding made with love and tuck myself in as well knowing that they were all so comfy in the bedding that you all sent.

With great appreciation!

I received the box of bedding today. I do not have words enough to say thanks. I can say that we all love you and all those who helped out so very much. We are so blessed to be a part of a community that cares so much for each other. Everything you sent is perfect and wonderful. The gift you all have is immeasurable. The babies couldn't wait for me to open the box. Then if I tried to move anything I got hissed at.....Talk about spoiled. Ah well they do deserve a little luxury.

Thank you all so very much.

Wow, you guys sent so much good "stuff" the ferrets will love! Can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I should send fabric for your sew days and I plan to do that pretty soon. I still haven't been able to sew and have quite a bit of fabric just sitting here.

Please give everyone my thanks and gratitude. The kids send hugs and dooks! Me too.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back with you, it has been a very crazy couple of weeks. I have had back surgery and 6 days later I had to have my gall bladder removed. Please send my thanks to all the ladies that helped make the ferret bedding, and thank you for thinking of us over here in alabama.

What a nice surprise I found at my back door yesterday! I can’t thank you and your sewing group enough! We have some very happy and content ferrets tonight! They are sleeping in there new digs!

Please let the others in your group know how special your gift was. Your timing was perfect. We have gotten in 8 ferrets in the last week and when I picked up a little stray today at the Humane Society, they stated there will probably be more. The students moved out of their apartments day before yesterday and there have been a few sightings of loose ferrets wandering the neighborhoods where the students live! People never cease to amaze me!

Thank you again for your thoughtfulness. It restores my faith in humankind! I guess I’ve been in the shelter business too long – 20 years and over 1,600 ferrets makes for a lot of sad stories.

Dear [Crafty Weasels],

What a surprise - my girls are in heaven. They just LOVE the soft sleep sacks and the LONG tubes. Everything is so beautiful, I am so blessed to have received this gift.

The sleep sacks are so soft and they will be so happy, It is hot and humid tonight, but it will be 50 tomorrow and they will love them.

I can't thank you enough, I'm going to give the one with the "Greatest of these is Love" to Wednesday. She is still a diamond in the rough, and still needs a little work.

Thank you all again.

Hi! Im Cindy and I'm a volunteer @ the Greater Chicago Ferret Association. Just wanted to let you know that we received the bedding. Thank you so much! They are gorgeous and are so comfy for the little critters. They greatly appreciate it! They love having new cozy places to sleep. They were very much needed, the beds get used so much and wear out and its so nice to give them a new hammock or sack that they can curl up in. Thank you for all of your hard work. The beds are so pretty and well made. The ferrets say thank you and send their kissies! xxxxx

This is Susie Lee for The Ferret & Dove Sanctuary, Inc. to let you all know that the box of bedding arrived with the late mail last night and we were able to give two elderly, ill ferrets two of the soft slee-pouches right away; Rapscallion Rascal who has prostate issues in his 8th year and has an appt. for a vet specialist over this, and MannyMoe Silver who has advanced lymphoma that came in with his lady-friend Jacqeuline Blacksable (originally un-named drop-offs at the cat-and-dog shelter inside the Eglin AFB, they became MannyMoe and Jacq, after the 'pep boys' auto fellows.) This morning, a cancer-remissioned volunteer and I spent a pleasant hour making extra-long hanging strings of knotted soft yarn on most of the rest of the items so that we can hang them (or not) in most of the cages, including the two biggest ones where five to six ferrets like to pile into a large hammie all together. What a PLEASURE this was! Your choices of material is MUCH appreciated by each of the 65 ferrets all here, AND the old, half-scratched-to-pieces hammies are being "recycled" as hanging nests both inside the aviary cages for the domestic birds and outside the cages for the wild birds. (For the wild birds, hang the old, otherwise un-usable hammies with all four corners together, so it dangles like an orioles' or a weaverbirds' nest. Wrens and other insect-eating birds especially favor these!!!)

Thank you each and all from every furred and feathered denizen both domestic and wild, in and around The Ferret & Dove Sanctuary, Inc.

I just wanted to let you know that it did arrive and I pray you get my letter. Again thank you so much my babies will love all their new bedding. Tomorrow is Saturday and they always get clean bedding on Saturdays so this will be their day for new bedding. I was very surprised to see the box come and very glad to see some new bedding for my kids.

Dear Crafty Weasels of Georgia:

We can't thank you enough for the beautiful, practical and wonderful ferret bedding. We are housing around 29 ferrets and I love giving them something cozy. They are truly wonderful. When you run a ferret sanctuary, the rare occasion of receiving nice fuzzy bedding is always the highlight of our day! this means the ugly, old ones with holes can be replaced.

Thanks again, there really are no words to express what it means to us and the ferrets.

Every little fuzzy and fuzzless at Father Natures wants to thank everyone for the wonderful bedding. It is with the help of folks like you and yours that make thing a little bit easier to handle. With the summer months approaching it seems everyone wants to surrender their ferrets because they are either moving or having a baby. Your bedding will go to VERY good use especially with all our special needs babies. Sometimes their weak little legs can't carry them to the potty in time and fresh bedding is a Godsend. Again thank you from the bottom of our hearts and please extend the same to everyone whose busy little fingers did such beautiful work.

Hi Crafty Weasels of Georgia!

We received your package today of all the great bedding you sent for our rescued ferrets! They absolutely LOVE it! You are very good sewers and we appreciate all you are doing for our rescues.

The ferrets love the sleepsacks that I have never seen the style of before. That is so nice! In the North here in Michigan, they use those a lot! More chilly days a year than hot...LOL!

Thank you again for all you do...
