Yogen here, wishing everyone a very
Happy New Year! I'm so excited about the new year that I can't even contain myself! The Crafty Weasels sure are making a lot of shelter and foster ferrets cozy and warm...and I'm glad that I can be a part of it all. Won't you join us? "Joy is first in the making and then in the giving." 2008 was an amazing year! The Crafty Weasels really pulled together and did a wonderful job in handcrafting more than 600 pieces of bedding, all of which was donated to shelters across the country.
As you can see, we completed a total of 643 pieces of bedding. That's 56 pieces MORE than we did in 2007! Look at the chart to the right to see the breakdown of the bedding that was made each month. A list of shelters that received bedding as well as members who attended sew days in 2008 are listed below. There were an average of 12 people at the sew days and an average of 53 pieces of bedding were made each month. There were 36 different shelters that received bedding. We collected almost $600 for shipping and supplies, spending about $550 of that throughout the year. This left us with a little bit to start the new year on the right foot. Thanks to everyone who donated or purchased bedding...it would be impossible to ship all these boxes without the generosity of our donators. If you would like to help us with our shipping fund, please send your donations to our Paypal account at webmaster@craftyweasels.com. Make a note that it is for the "Crafty Weasels Shipping Fund". As you can see, every little bit helps.
Thanks goes out to everyone who helped us make 2008 a great year. We appreciate all the donations, monetary and items alike. Our volunteers have extremely large hearts and are such wonderful people. We have received many thanks from shelter moms, dads and ferrets that have received our bedding and it is great to know that we have helped so many. Thank you, thank you, thank you...it just cannot be said enough. If this is your first visit to our website, let us introduce ourselves. We are a group of ferret lovers who get together on the second Saturday of each month to sew bedding for ferrets in need. We sew everything from hammocks and sacks to barrels and tunnels and lots more! Our group would not exist without the heart of our volunteers who provide their time along with materials, food and money to help offset the cost of shipping. Everyone works! We have an assembly line from start to finish, and everyone who volunteers has a critical part in the process. Every level of sewing experience is welcome. We have many different tasks and I'm sure that one will fit you! They range from cutting, pinning and ironing to flipping, sewing, and trimming threads. We're not just for shelters! We are also part of the ferret community and can help individuals as well. If anyone is owned by ferrets and is in desperate need of bedding, our group is willing to chip in and donate a few items. There is always great food and lots of fuzzy lovin' time! After all, we do what we do for the ferrets. If you are interested in finding out more about Crafty Weasels or participating in our sew days, please feel free to join our FBOG yahoo group or you can send us an email at webmaster@craftyweasels.com.

Hello
Date Sent: Apr 6, 2009 We would like to THANK YOU for the beautiful bedding sets and hammocks we received. We appreciate the time and the kindness that went into each and every piece. The ferrets are enjoying them so much ! To all of those who made it possible-Karen, Chuck, Florence, Julie, Dyna, Dawn, Ann, Adrian, Lesley, Brad, Donna, Sue & Norma-you guys did wonderful work for our kids. As you know, we are a sanctuary for unadoptable ferrets who are elderly, ill, handicapped and those who have suffered abuse. The sanctuary will be their forever home. The lovely hammocks & sleepy sacks that you all have made will make their lives all that much sweeter- whether they will be with us for 6 months, or 6 years. We Thank You for choosing Angie's Song to receive such a lovely & beautiful gift. All The Best, Rose Bruce & all of the fuzzies

We had 2 address changes so it took a little while to reach us, but it was so very much worth the wait. Thank you to EVERYONE from the bottom of our broken hearts. We miss all our fuzzies terribly and the way our hands are tied with the insurance, it is a nightmare. Thank you all again for brightening our day.
